£35 million German International to help partner Silva at the Bridge as January move to Chelsea on the cards

According to REPORTS IN THE MEDIA, Chelsea could return for Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter in January.

It was no secret in the media that Frank Lampard was desperate to spend some serious money in the transfer window and try to sign players that would help improve this Blues squad, and he did, spending over £200 million on new players.

But despite all the superstars that arrived, and despite the fact that Chelsea are looking more defensively solid at the back, there is a feeling that a new defender needs to be signed in the transfer window in order for Chelsea to close in on a Premier League title.

The Blues were interested in bringing the 26-year-old Ginter to Stamford Bridge over the summer but a deal failed to materialise, as the Blues could not agree a fee for the player, as Borussia wanted close to £50 million from Chelsea.

However, Reports on Kicker suggest Ginter could be available for around £35million in the January window, which has prompted Chelsea to reignite their interest in the German International.

A move would see the ex-Borussia Dortmund man link up with Germany teammates Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger, so a move to the Premier League would be very tempting for Ginter.

Look, Chelsea have been improving at the back this season, mostly down to Thiago Silva, but the Brazilian cannot play every game for Chelsea and they still need to splash the cash and land another defender.

Is Ginter the answer? We dont know.

But we know that Ginter has all the attributes to play for a big club and is at that stage of his career that he needs to make that step up in the game, and for that £35 million that he is reportedly valued at, he could be a brilliant signing for the Blues.
