Ajax manager admits Chelsea target could leave for the “right price”

There are a couple of players Chelsea are being quite convincingly linked to this summer, and Ajax keeper Andre Onana is very much among them.

What makes the links to the stopper more convincing than others? Well for one thing, the Blues undeniably need to upgrade their goalkeeping situation.

Whether it’s veteran competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga or a proper replacement like Onana, help between the sticks is desperately needed.

Then there’s the second factor – the Cameroon international feels like he’s had a good bit of success in Holland and is now ready to move on. We’ve heard things from his camp in recent weeks that show they’re ready for a move.

Now, we’re finally getting the third part of the package – Ajax admitting he could go.

Erik Ten Haag, the manager of the Dutch side, is quoted on Goal.com admitting that his first choice stopper could leave, for the right price:

“Andre is very important to us and of course we don’t want to lose him, but it’s true that we have an agreement from last year about the development scenario and what steps we will take if the right club comes in at the right price,” the manager commented, before adding: “As far as I know, no concrete offer has been made to Ajax.” Let’s wait and see if that’s the case in 6 months.
