Another Key Chelsea midfielder set to miss rest of the season with knee injury

The Blues were already without two key midfielders in their last match against Crystal Palace, but now they look set to lose another one for the remainder of the season.

According to The Sun, 19-year old midfielder Billy Gilmour will miss the rest of the season with an knee injury that he picked up in that same game against Palace.

Gilmour controversially started the game ahead of the experienced Jorginho, sparking debates over his Chelsea future.

But the Italian looks almost certain to be playing a lot more football for Chelsea for the remainder of this season at least, if the report is true.

Jorginho has only played 15 minutes for Chelsea since football restarted, with N’Golo Kante being preferred in that defensive midfield role.

This will be a big blow for Gilmour though, he was really starting to make a name for himself since bursting onto the scene this season.

But at least there are only a handful of games left to play and he will have the summer holidays to recover.
