Terry is now officially retired as Conte has sent his best wishes for the future
There has always been a mutual respect between John Terry and Antonio Conte even though the former didn’t enjoy much game time under the latter during the victorious 2016-17 campaign.
Conte wrote on his Facebook about Terry: ”A Great Professional and a Great Man. It’s been an honour and a pleasure to have had you as Captain. Good luck with all your next challenges, John!”
Again, although Terry didn’t feature much in his last campaign at Stamford Bridge, his absence in the dressing room a year later was often mentioned by Conte last season.
When Conte was relieved of his duties at Chelsea last summer, Terry took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the Italian: ”Thank you boss. Great man, great manager. I wish you every success in the future.”
