Bad news for Lampard as another Chelsea star suffers injury ahead of Southampton clash.
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is now a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League game against Southampton at Stamford Bridge after suffering an injury while on international duty with France.
Kante missed France 2-1 victory over Croatia on Wednesday and according to L’Equipe journalist Bertrand Latour, it was due to a muscle pain.
The severity of the reported muscle problem remains unclear at the moment.
Since the start of last season, Kante has missed 22 games due to injury, with a 21-day absence due to muscle-related injury among them.
Kante isn’t the only player that returns to Chelsea after the internationals with an injury. Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy also suffered an injury while on international duty with Senegal.
