Bayern announcement means Chelsea free to wrap up £140,000-a-week week deal

Bayern Munich have handed Chelsea a huge boost in the race to sign Kai Havertz by confirming they will NOT bid for the star this summer.

Havertz has been the transfer that Frank Lampard has been wanting to complete for some time now as he seeks an immediate replacement for Willian, who looks set to depart the club after failing to agree a new contract.

But with the possible Havertz deal being dragged out because we cant agree a fee, there have been Reports in Germany which have suggested that the Bundesliga champions are also in the hunt to try and get a transfer deal done.

However, Having completed the £40.9million transfer of Leroy Sane from Manchester City, another major investment is not on Die Roten’s radar, and they have told the club that they will not be making a transfer move for Havertz.

Bayern chief Uli Hoeness told FAZ: “I am sure that, after Leroy Sane, there will be no major transfers this year.

“That has nothing to do with the quality of Havertz. We all think he is a very, very good player.

“But in the coronavirus period after a transfer of almost 50 million, one of 70, 80 million or more I can’t imagine making unless we secure counter-financing through player sales.”

This is very good news as Bayern were the only real competition for us, as it will clear the way and it it easier to get Havertz for the price that they are looking for.
