Bayern director Hasan Salihamidzic announces contract talks as Chelsea ready to seal world class deal

David Alaba could be all set to leave Bayern in the summer, with Chelsea ready to hand a big contract. Frank Lampard knows that he needs to improve the side if he wants to get back inside the top four and then push on to challenge for a Premier League title and Champions League crown.

And one area of concern for the Blues is the defence, as it is not good enough to challenge the big boys in Europe, so Lampard is reportedly keen to sort that issues out with the possible signing of Alaba, who is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the game right now.

Alaba has 12 months left on his current deal with the German giants, but there has been a few issues with his contract talks and speculation has risen over the past few months that he is seeking a way out of the club after ten years of service with Bayern.

The versatile 27-year-old is a world-class performer at a handful of different positions and has been a big part in helping Bayern win 14 major trophies since debuting in 2010 but reports on the Sky website have claimed that he could be all set to leave the club.

He has not agreed a new contract at the club, despite Bayern keen on sealing down his services, and Chelsea have reportedly showed an interest in trying to get a transfer deal done in the summer.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic smoke on Alaba’s uncertain future on Sky on Saturday VIA ESPN: “We are very happy with David’s development on this position [was moved to centre-back]. He’s the boss in defence, he has become a real personality.

“We are all very, very happy with it. We held a few talks and will hold more. At the moment, we all better focus on the sporting this. Not all players, but also staff, coaches and us, the sporting hierarchy. All at due time.

“We will try everything and I believe that both sides know what they have in each other. David knows what he has in FC Bayern and we know what we have in David.” Look, Alaba is one of the very best left-backs in the game, so if there is a chance for Chelsea to complete some sort of transfer deal, they should take it.
