BIG GAME: Timo Werner sends ‘strong warning’ to Klopp ahead of Liverpool clash

Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea striker Timo Werner has warned Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp that he will be fit for the game.

Werner suffered a knock as he won the penalty for Chelsea’s opening goal in the 3-1 win over Brighton on Monday night but he insists he will be fit to face Liverpool on Sunday.

When asked if he would be fit to face Liverpool on Sunday, Werner replied: “Of course. Games like this you are always fit.”

Werner also warned Klopp he feels capable of creating plenty of chances in the Premier League and that Chelsea’s new-look side will have plenty more to offer than we showed against Brighton.

Werner told Sky Sports: “Premier League is different football. “Defenders, I never played against three defenders like this. So tall, such big, massive defenders.

“But the game, for me, it was really fun because especially in the first half I had a lot of space where I could do my runs.

“I think the last part we missed today but for me and also the rest of the team I think we’ll get a lot of chances we can create in the Premier League and I’m happy to be here.

“I think we can do much better than we did today. “At the end we won the game and lots of players in our team haven’t played any games this season.

“We are maybe not as strong as we could be, but in the next few weeks we will get very fit and very confident when we win games like we did with this one today. “I think we’ll get a very strong team this season.”
