Big transfer news as Chelsea ‘have already agreed deal’ to bring next signing to Stamford Bridge

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have already completed a deal for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz have all arrived this summer and it has been reported that Frank Lampard also wants a new goalkeeper and defender.

Kep may have been backed by the boss over the last 24 hours, but that doesnt hide the fact that Kepa has not impressed like many would have liked over the past 12 months, and once again showed why there has been so much speculation against Brighton.

And the impressive Mendy has been heavily tipped to make the move to the Bridge, with reports in the media suggesting that an £18 million deal has already been agreed between Chelsea and Rennes to sign the man on a four-year deal.

Now journalist Romano claims Chelsea have already finalised an agreement to sign Senegal international Mendy, he Tweeted: “Lampard says he’s happy with Kepa… but Chelsea have already completed the signing of Edouard Mendy with Rennes as new GK. ? #CFC #Chelsea

If the reports are true and Mendy is coming to the club over the next few days, then he will be a very good signing for Chelsea and the right of challenge that Kepa needs to get back to his very best.

So it will be very interesting to see if Romano is correct and Mendy is heading to the club, because Lampard gave the indication that there would be no more signings heading to the Bridge.
