Blues fans shocked after Frank Lampard sent surprise message about two new Chelsea signings

There has been alot said over the past few months about the transfer dealings that Frank Lampard has managed to already do for Chelsea, as many are excited to see just what Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech can bring to the club.

Ziyech is regarded as one of the best wingers in the game having made a name for himself with Ajax, especially in the Champions League as he has constantly been one of the most creative players in the competition.

And Werner is a natural goal-machine, with 34 goals in the Bundesliga last season, he is one of the most deadly forwards the game has to offer, and a real bargain for that £50 million that Chelsea are reportedly paying.

However, despite all the hype, Souness has warned Chelsea boss Frank Lampard he might have picked up two duds, just like Spaniard Morata, who came with a big reputation in the game, but failed to deliver on a weekly basis.

Speaking in his Times column, the cantankerous Scot said: “Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech will be available for next season. “Both come with good reputations but so did Alvaro Morata and he made no impression.

“Even Thierry Henry, one of the great overseas signings, took a season at Arsenal to adjust to the demands of the Premier League, so there is no guarantee that the Blues’ two new recruits will turn them into title contenders overnight.

These two players have proved themselves at the highest level already, so they will know what it takes to make it in the Premier League. So the media will need to give them a chance rather than jumping on their backs before they have even come to the Premier League.
