Boss delighted with new midfield addition after Chelsea OFFICIALLY announce another deal is signed and sealed

Bristol Rovers have announced the loan signing of midfielder Luke McCormick from Chelsea F.C.

A graduate of the Chelsea youth system, McCormick has trained with the Blues since the age of six and has risen through the Chelsea ranks playing alongside the likes of Mason Mount and Trevoh Chalobah.

However, he is not quite ready to make an impact on the Chelsea first team and the club have decided that a loan move to Bristol will give them the chance to see him playing at a very decent level.

Chelsea announced on their official website: “His new loan club Bristol Rovers are currently 20th in the League One table and have former Chelsea Academy defender Josh Grant in their squad. “They are next in action on Saturday away at Doncaster Rovers.

On his new midfield addition, Manager Ben Garner said on the club website, “We are delighted to welcome Luke to the football club.”

“He is a midfielder that has great energy, is forward thinking & has an eye for goal. Speaking to both the Academy & First team staff at Chelsea it is clear that Luke is highly thought of both as a player and as a character.

“We would like to thank Chelsea for their cooperation with the loan move and we look forward to Luke helping us this season.”

Many at Chelsea rate McCormick very highly and it is a surprise to see that he is heading out on-loan, but with all the quality that Chelsea have in the squad right now, this is the best thing for the lad.

Bristol are a very good team that will surely give him some valuable game time, and if he impresses the scouts over the next few months, he could get a shot in the Chelsea first team next season.
