BREAKING: Chelsea set to lose this important player in summer

According to Daily Express, Chelsea are on the verge of losing Olivier Giroud to Inter Milan this summer.

However, The World cup winner has become an important player in Frank Lampard’s starting XI in recent weeks but with his contract expiring at the end of the season, Giroud’s future at Chelsea is uncertain.

Conte tried to sign the French international during the January transfer window and even agreed personal terms but Chelsea pulled the plug on the move after failing to line up a replacement. The Serie A club are still interested in the 33 year old striker and have told his representatives that they still want a deal.

While Chelsea are offering Giroud a one year deal, Inter Milan are happy to offer the Frenchman a two year deal to swap Stamford Bridge for the San Siro this summer.

Giroud has managed 2 goals in 5 Premier League starts for Chelsea this season and recently reaffirmed his desire to renew his contract in west London.

When asked if he would like to stay at Chelsea, Giroud said: “Yes. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course.

“There are a few months to go, games to win and maybe another trophy, and after, you know, I think I have two (or) three nice seasons in front of me.

“It’s not the time to talk about contracts and everything but I will take a decision when it comes.”
