BREAKING: Napoli set price tag for Dries Mertens after Chelsea request

Napoli have told Chelsea are ready to sell Dries Mertens for £7million, According to the Telegraph’s Matt Law.

Real source confirms that the Premier League club have enquired over the possibility of such a deal in the final days of the January transfer campaign which so far has been frustrating for the West London outfit.

Mertens’ contract with Napoli expires in the summer, and the Belgian will be happy to see it run out before a potential move to Inter Milan, the reporter adds. It means that the player would need some convincing, too.

Dries joined Napoli in summer 2013 in a €9.5m deal from PSV. The current campaign is the attacker’s 7th with the Serie A club.

All in all, Mertens has made 304 appearances for the club, scoring 118 goals, providing 71 assists and winning 2 trophies.

This term, the Belgian has taken part in 22 games across all competitions so far, scored 9 goals and registered 4 assists, which includes 5 goals and an assist in 6 Champions League matches.
