Chelsea could announce the signing of German star next week

German midfield star Havertz has attracted interest from top clubs around the world due to his brilliant performance in the German Bundesliga.

Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the 21-year-old midfielder but the Reds withdrew from the race due to the high valuation of the player by Leverkusen.

Based on reports from Bild Chelsea is in a better position to sign him because they are the only club that can afford to Leverkusen’s asking price at the moment. Meanwhile, the London outfits are looking to fund the deal by paying in install-mental with £62.9 million upfront and another £26.9 million in bonuses.

The 21-year-old midfielder is believed to be keen on signing for Chelsea on the condition that Chelsea must qualify for the champions league.

Right now Chelsea is currently occupying the third position on the table after beating Crystal Palace 3-2 away from home. Bild also reported that Real Madrid is also very keen to sign the player but they can’t complete the deal without offloading some of the first team players. However, Havertz is not ready to stay another season with Leverkusen and has decided to move to Chelsea so deal could be done this week or next week.
