Chelsea Goalkeeper returns to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea goalkeeper Jamal Blackman has returned to the club from his loan at Vitesse Arnhem and will spend the remainder of this season on loan at Bristol Rovers.

However, The 26-year-old spent the first half of the season with the Dutch club but injury hampered his time in the Netherlands.

Blackman had suffered a fractured bone in his leg and returned to Cobham before his summer switch to Vitesse, having spent last season on loan with Championship side Leeds United.

Blackman will now be with League One side Bristol Rovers, who are 13th in League One, five points below the play-off places.

Blackman is a Chelsea academy product and joined the club as an under-13 and won the FA Youth Cup and the Under-21 league title while in the club’s Academy.

Blackman is yet to feature for the senior team but has impressed while out on loan, including being named Wycombe’s Young Player of the Year and helping Sheffield United to the verge of the Championship play-offs.

Chelsea currently have Kepa Arrizabalaga as the number one, with Willy Caballero and Jamie Cumming as the back-ups. However, there have been question marks over the Spaniard’s performance who’s currently the most expensive goalkeeper in the world.
