Chelsea handed boost in pursuit of maurizio sarri favourite

Chelsea have been handed a boost in our reported pursuit of Maurizio Sarri transfer target Jose Maria Callejon.

It has previously been claimed that Sarri wants to bring Callejon with him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Callejon enjoyed the most successful and prolific period of his top-level career under Maurizio Sarri’s stewardship. It would come as no surprise if the Italian looked to reunite with the former Real Madrid forwar this summer.

There has been claims of a non-belligerence agreement in part of the deal to take Sarri to Stamford Bridge. This would prevent Chelsea activating the release clauses of any Napoli players this summer, thus effectively ruling out a move for Callejon.

However, if we do have even the remotest interest in securing the Spaniard’s signature this summer, we have just been handed a boost in our pursuit.

Calciomercato report that AC Milan have now exited the race to sign the 31-year-old, having been unwilling to pay his release clause.

Would Callejon be a good signing, Blues? Let us know what you think in the comments.
