Chelsea Have ‘Made deepened’ contacts with 53 Year Old Italian coach as Lampard Replacement.

According to Calciomercato.it. , Chelsea have made contact with intermediaries of former AC Milan and Juventus manager Max Allegri.

The Italian website claims Frank Lampard’s poor start to the season, combined with his lavish spending, have led to the Blues looking at potential alternatives if the team’s form doesn’t pick up in the next few weeks.

It is believed that talks with Allegri’s representatives have “intensified and deepened” recently with Chelsea not ruling out a change in manager if results against Sevilla and Manchester United don’t show a change in direction.

Allegri is also being courted by the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain, who are looking for a replacement for current head coach Thomas Tuchel whose contract expires at the end of the season.

However, Chelsea’s interest in the 53-year-old looks to be the strongest at the moment, with Calciomercato.it suggesting that discussions have become “more and more concrete,” but much will depend on whether Lampard can turn things around.
