Chelsea ‘have opened a channel’ to Jadon Sancho as Dortmund name final asking price

Chelsea and Man United are both interested in signing Jadon Sancho in the summer but won’t go ahead and match Borussia Dortmund’s mammoth asking price of £100 million for the 20-year-old, According to the Daily Mirror.

Sancho has been repeatedly linked with a move back to English football, with reports in the press suggesting that the youngster is likely to depart Dortmund at the end of the season.

However, the door pretty much remains open for Chelsea and Man United to go head-to-head in a transfer tug of war over Sancho, but the Blues are reportedly unwilling to pay that kind of money for a player who just has 11 senior England caps to his name.

The report adds that Chelsea ‘have opened a channel’ for the transfer to happen, with Frank Lampard keen on bolstering his attacking line heading into the upcoming campaign, but the hierarchy feels that they might eventually have to pull the plug on negotiations due to Dortmund’s financial demands.

Dortmund, though, are said to be in no mood of letting Sancho depart on the cheap in the summer and the Bundesliga giants have indicated that they will ‘stick to their guns’ on that eye-watering asking price.

The 20-year-old’s allegiance was to Chelsea in his childhood, having been brought up in the Kennington area, just a few miles away from Stamford Bridge.
