Chelsea in advanced talks with No.9 Norwegian goal machine

Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with a possible transfer swoop for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Norway international has exploded onto the scene in the last 18 months or so with some stunning scoring figures for both BVB and previous club RB Salzburg, and he’s sure to earn himself another big move before too long.

Blues are the latest club to be taking a look at Erling as coach Frank Lampard considers a slightly surprising tactical move.

Frank Lampard signed Timo Werner during the summer but has often used the centre-forward out wide and he plans to make that a permanent move after being impressed with his displays there.

This, however, would see Blues enter the market for a striker once again, as Chelsea could do with an upgrade on the unconvincing Tammy Abraham. Haaland is certainly in a whole different league in that department, with the striker scoring 27 goals in just 29 games for BVB, following his superb record of 29 goals in 27 matches for RB Salzburg.

Blues would do well to bring this top talent to London, but they’ll surely face much contest for his signature. Man City have just been linked with the 20-year-old centre-forward, while he’s also recently been linked with Man United.

Some Chelsea supporters may question the logic in moving a top player like Werner out wide, however, with Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi also all fine options in that position.
