Chelsea in pole position to sign 21-year-old Spanish playmaker

A Recent reports appear to indicate that the London club are potentially leading the race to sign Dinamo Zagreb star Dani Olmo. Goal reported yesterday that Chelsea and Barcelona were ahead of Man United in the battle to sign the 21-year-old playmaker.

However, Spain international isn’t currently an option for the Catalan club, leaving Blues and Red Devils as the only other top sides interested in the playmaker.

Meanwhile, Goal have also claimed that London club and Man United held talks with Dinamo Zagreb over the playmaker’s signature and that the Croatian club valued the attacker at €40m.

This report also suggests that Dani is pushing for a winter exit. Olmo’s wonderful performances at last summer’s Euro Under-21s Championships with the Furia Roja appeared to have put the playmaker on the radar of several top clubs.

The Spanish playmaker left Blaugrana’s world-famous La Masia academy to join Dinamo Zagreb, and the versatile attacking midfielder hasn’t looked back since. Dani has eight goals and seven assists to his name in 22 games in all tournaments this campaign.

The Dinamo Zagreb sensation also made his debut for Furia Roja’s senior team during the last international break, so now could be an ideal time for a top club to invest in the playmaker. Dani’s value will undoubtedly sky-rocket if he stars at this summer’s Euros for Spain.

The talented youngster’s versatility should appeal to many topsides, as while he largely features in a central playmaker role, he’s also been deployed on the wings in the past.
