Chelsea launched £50 million transfer offer as Lampard ready to ditch Rudiger to get deal done

According to reports, Chelsea have launched a £50million bid for West Ham star Declan Rice.

Chelsea may be getting many in the Premier League excited for the start of next season, especially with the transfer deals that they have already done, but they need to delve into that kitty and land a new central defender.

They have already conceded more goals at the back than any side in the top 10 of the Premier League, and will not be able to challenge for that title if frank Lampard does not get the defensive players that will improve the side.

And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard has put the impressing Declan Rice very high up on his shopping list of players that he would like to try and sign this summer.

And Rudiger is possibly going to be sold this summer as Frank Lampard has ambitious transfer plans with Mundo Deportivo in Spain are reporting this interest with the Blues hoping to replace Rudiger with Rice.

Rudiger has been a big part of the Chelsea back-line this season, but he has looked very shaky at times in that Chelsea shirt and Lampard knows that he may be able to get some good money for the German.

However, Sky Sports are claiming Chelsea have made their opening bid for the England defensive midfielder, with the report suggesting that £50 million has been offered by the Chelsea board. It’s also claimed Lampard wants Rice to fill the void in defence – rather than his preferred defensive midfield role.a
