Chelsea, man united and tottenham battling for signature of barcelona ace

Chelsea are reportedly in the running to sign Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba, alongside two Premier League rivals.

The Sun report that both Chelsea and Manchester United hold an interest in signing the Spaniard, who has been one of the best left-backs on the planet over the past few years.

Marcos Alonso enjoyed a superb campaign last season, but he does not have the qualities to play as a full-back. If Maurizio Sarri reverts to a back-four, Alonso could be in trouble.

It’s for that reason that our interest in Alba may well make sense. AS note that Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing the 29-year-old. The competition looks extremely tough.

AS report that Alba’s release clause stands at £52.6M. If Chelsea, United or Spurs’ interest in signing him is genuine, that’s the price that will have to be paid to prise him away from the Nou Camp.

It’s a lot of money to spend on a necessity. What do you think, Blues?
