According to the Daily Star, Lampard has reportedly told Napoli striker Dries Mertens that he is at the top of the club’s transfer wish list.
Mertens, who has scored 12 goals in 29 matches for the Serie A club this season, is out of contract in the summer and widely expected to leave Naples.
The transfer window is likely to be badly affected by football’s global suspension, and so free transfer signings like Mertens may well be favoured by Chelsea as they look to provide competition up front for young striker Tammy Abraham.
Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are reportedly unlikely to remain at the club beyond the end of the current campaign.
