Chelsea set to sanction sale of Germany international in January

Chelsea are preparing to field proposals for defender Antonio Rudiger ahead of the January transfer market, according to a recent report by Eurosport.

It’s claimed that the Blues are prepared to offload some senior team players in January having enjoyed an active summer in terms of incomings, and Antonio is one player who could go.

The report adds that Rudiger wants to leave and does not feel like he is being treated fairly, with former side Roma now keen.

Rudiger made 19 Premier League starts last campaign and seemingly played a role in luring Kai Havertz and Timo Werner to the club.

Now, Frank Lampard appears to be moving on from Antonio, as he has yet to make a single Premier League appearance thus far this season.

It’s a surprise to see how Antonio’s Chelsea career is going, as he now appears to be fifth-choice behind Fikayo Tomori, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva.

One of the clubs interested in landing Rudiger over the summer was Tottenham Hotspur, with manager Jose Mourinho keen to begin the German international to the club.
