The Chelsea fans will no doubt be familiar to Ajax shot-stopper Andre Onana, who has been touted as a potential replacement for under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga between the sticks at Stamford Bridge, and the Cameroonian has backed Hakim Ziyech to torment the Premier League ahead of his impending transfer to West London.
While Onana acknowledges that Ziyech’s departure will be a big loss for Ajax, the 24-year-old is fully supportive of his teammate’s decision to seek a move to a more competitive league.
“When he leaves [Ajax], we will lose the most brilliant player on the team. It will not be easy,” Onana told Dutch outlet NOS.
“He was already here when I got here. I can understand why [he is leaving]. I understand his choice.
“I am happy for him and proud of what he has done for this club. I wish him the best of luck. He’s going to destroy everything [in the Premier League].”
