Chelsea transfer target may end up in prison due to non-chalant attitude

Chelsea have been linked with former Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic before his move to Real Madrid, and less than a year into his Real Madrid career, the Blues are still being linked with the striker who was a hit in Europe last season, both in the German league and the Europa League.

Jovic caused outrage last month for flying to Belgrade and breaking self isolation procedures.

On March 19th, Luka Jovic was caught by Serbian police breaking the country’s self isolation rules after travelling from Madrid during the COVID-19 outbreak. He was seen at his girlfriend’s party while in Serbia, but attested that he was simply going out for groceries and pharmaceutical needs — as he’s allowed to do once per day if needed.

Jovic will now face public prosecutors in Serbia to await his fate. His punishment can range anywhere from 1,275 Euros, or a prison sentence.

Meanwhile, the player’s dad defended Jovic, saying his son has done nothing wrong but is being made to look like a criminal.

“If he has to go to prison, let him go,” Milan Jovic told the Serbian radio station Puls. “I agree completely with the president and the prime minister, but only if he’s guilty of wrongdoing.

“I’d support that decision if he’d done something wrong, but he arrived in Belgrade and stayed at home.”
