Chelsea transfer target Timo Werner release clause finally revealed & wants Premier League move

Timo Werner is a hot property in the transfer market after a flourishing season in the German Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.

The Leipzig striker has bagged 18 goals in the first half of the Bundesliga campaign and is second in the league’s scoring charts behind Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.

It has been claimed that Werner has a release clause in his RB Leipzig contract, and according to The Athletic, Werner is available for £42.5m due to a clause in the contract he signed last August.

Werner is also believed to be open to a Premier League switch but wants guaranteed first-team football. However, the 23-year-old is not keen on a move this January transfer window.

Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley has given his verdict on Chelsea transfer target Timo Werner.

Burley told ESPN FC: “Would I like to see him at Chelsea? I don’t particularly care, I’m not bothered. I have no preference.

“He’s clearly a good player who eventually is going to have to make, I would think, a big move.”
