Chelsea vs Bayern: Can Rudiger handle Lewandowski next month? Read what he has to say

Chelsea will be facing Bayern Munich in the second round of the Champions League, and it’s a huge game for the Blues having progressed from a group that included Ajax, Valencia and Lille.

However, the blues managed to qualify as second from the group, and Chelsea were given a tough draw for the round of 16 to meet the Bavarians.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will be a tough one for the Chelsea defence to cope with, with the Poland international having scored 31 goals in 25 games in all competitions, including 10 strikes in 5 Champions League appearances this term.

Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger believes Lewandowski is among the best strikers in the world and admits that it’ll be a tough challenge against the Bayern Munich forward.

“Mauro Icardi, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski have been the best No.9s in recent years.

Lewandowski looks to have gotten even better this season,” said Rüdiger as quoted by Bundesliga’s official website.

“I have a lot of respect for him. It’ll be a tough challenge to be able to keep him in check. We can only do that as a team.”
