Chelsea willing to beat Man United in race for £200m-rated forward

Chelsea will bid for Christian Eriksen in the summer transfer window.

The Tottenham attacker had been linked with a switch to Real Madrid, but Los Blancos have cooled their interest in the midfielder.

Spurs want upwards of £200 million for the Dane, who has been at White Hart Lane since 2013 and is in the final 18 months of his current deal.

The Express claims Chelsea are preparing for a summer transfer battle for the Denmark international and the Premier League giants have been boosted by Real Madrid’s reluctance to pay Christian Eriksen’s asking price.

However, the Blues will face competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. Mauricio Pochettino wants No.10 to stay and expects a decision from his playmaker soon:

‘Christian is a very clever person, and of course there’s going to be a decision from him, from the club, from different parts, and I hope he can be committed to the club long-term.

‘We hope that he can be here for a long time. I think Christian is a fantastic player.’

Maurizio Sarri is expecting Chelsea to back him in his bid to revamp his Blues squad and it remains to be seen if the Dane midfielder is in his plans.
