Christian Pulisic hints at arrival of Chelsea target

Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic admitted that Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho has done “an amazing job” at the Westfalenstadion with the German club continuing to provide a platform on which young talent can build on their success.

Over the recent past, Borussia Dortmund has put a tremendous amount of faith in young players to guide the club forward.

Christian Pulisic was among those who benefited from the opportunity given by the Bundesliga club. The USMNT striker got his big break at Dortmund by showcasing his talent to the world and eventually getting picked up by Premier League giants Chelsea last year.

Pulisic initially arrived at the German club when he was 17 years old and slowly developed into a regular for Dortmund. England attacker Jadon Sancho was also the same age when he joined Dortmund and has seen a meteoric rise in his value over the past few seasons. In fact, Sancho has been the subject of interest from a number of top clubs in the Premier League including Chelsea.

Although the American star is only a year elder than Jadon Sancho, Pulisic revealed how the English winger has grown from strength to strength over the past few seasons. While speaking to Sky Sports the Chelsea star spoke highly of Dortmund and Sancho, “It’s one of the big reasons why I was really drawn there when I was very young.

I think they give younger players opportunities and it’s a great club to go and develop. Sancho was given an opportunity, just like I was, at a very high level, and they show you right away that they trust you and they’re going to give an equal opportunity to all the players. He’s done an amazing job since he came in and has obviously shown what abilities he has.”

Sancho has taken just 90 appearances to score 31 goals for Dortmund and that ratio is much better in comparison to Christian Pulisic’s time at the Westfalenstadion. In 127 games for the Black and Yellows, Pulisic managed to score 19 times.
