Christian Pulisic provides FREE meals every Saturday for a month to US hospital where he was born

Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has announced that every Saturday for the next month, he will provide meals for the hospital in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he was born.

Pennsylvania is one of the hardest-hit states by the virus: more than 40,000 cases have been registered so far. Pulisic, who has already made a sizeable donation to American foodbanks via the Feeding America charity, has decided to help his home town.

“We are going through a really tough time at the moment but we have Superheroes who will help get us through it, the medical professionals all over the world,” the 21-year-old’s statement reads on his Twitter page.

“We will all be in debt forever to these amazing people who have showed bravery and strength to help us fight this virus.

“To show my gratitude to the Superheroes in my hometown, Hershey, PA – myself and Chipotle will be sending meals every Saturday (starting yesterday) for the next month to all the brave men & women fighting COVID – 19 at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Centre, the hospital where I was born.”

Earlier, a similar gesture was made by Pulisic’s teammate Antonio Rudiger, who has pledged to cover three months’ catering costs for nurses at a hospital in his home town Berlin, Germany.
