CONFIRMED: Chelsea defender officially joins Portuguese club

After the transfer window ends Chelsea are still dealing to some transfers of players on loans.

However, according to reports, Chelsea defender Malang Sarr will spend the rest of the 2020/21 season on loan at Porto.

The young French defender joined Chelsea in August after his contract at French club Nice expired.

He had played for his local side Nice since he was five years old and became a regular in their first team at the age of 17.

Primarily a centre-back but also able to play on the left of a back three or at left-back (he is left-footed and six foot tall), Sarr has represented France from Under-16 to Under-21 levels and captained their Under-18s. He played at the 2019 Under-21 Euros.

The move to Porto will give Sarr an opportunity to play Champions League football this season, with the Portuguese club drawn in the same group as Manchester City, Olympiacos and Marseille.
