Darren Bent back Blues to sign this “Amazing” 24-year-old Mexican striker in summer

Former England striker Darren Bent believes Wolverhampton striker Raul Jimenez could be a great summer addition for Chelsea.

“What a signing he has been [for Wolves],” the 36-year-old says to Football Insider.

“He is a very good player who has had a great season. From what I’m hearing, there will be a lot of top clubs trying to sign him in the summer.

“He could do a job at Chelsea. I can see Manchester United or Chelsea coming in for him. Jimenez knows the Premier League, so that is the advantage so he would be a great signing for either.”

Interestingly, ex-Chelsea forward Joe Cole also backed his former club to sign the Mexican earlier in January.

The Blues’ fans seem to be fascinated with how Jimenez spends his debut season in the Premier League as well. Raul Jimenez has been on fire this season so far – in 38 games across all competitions, the Mexico international has scored 20 goals and registered 9 assists.

The 24-year-old’s estimated value stands at €42m, however, it’s likely that Wolves will sell their star striker for a higher price.
