Deal close: As Chelsea set to bid for Willian Replacement

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are interested in signing PSV and Mexico winger Hirving Lozano. However, The Blues are rumoured to be not the only club which monitor the 23-year-old footballer: AC Milan are also allegedly eager to make a bid for the Eredivisie star.

He usually plays as a right winger (19 games, 12 goals this season) but sometimes is also used at the left flank (8 games, 3 goals this season).

Lozano joined the Eredivisie side in 2017 from Pachuca. Since the start of the current campaign, the Mexican winger has already netted a total of 15 goals in 25 games in all competitions, which is quite impressive for the 23-year-old talent.

Most notably, Lozano scored a goal against Inter Milan in the Champions League group stage match earlier this month.

The Italian source report The Blues have more chances to land the winger in the upcoming January transfer window than AC Milan due to the fact Gennaro Gattuso’s side have already signed Lucas Paqueta and ‘would need a big sale’ in order to afford the 23-year-old Mexican.

As he’s mostly a right winger, the player might become a long-term replacement for Willian who turns 31 next summer.

The Brazilian has been sometimes heavily criticized throughout the season. This season Willian has netted only four goals in 28 appearances for The Blues.
