Deal On: Chelsea desperate to sign Ajax key player next month

Chelsea are reportedly hopeful of finalising a £22.4m deal for Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico.

Chelsea head-coach, Frank Lampard is supposedly keen to strengthen his left-back options in the upcoming summer transfer window, although the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic will affect transfer dealings for teams across the world.

However, Chelsea have previously been rumoured with a swoop for Leicester City’s full-back, Ben Chilwell, however, the England international’s £40m price tag has supposedly led to Frank Lampard withdrawing his interest in the Argentine defender.

According to The Telegraph, Tagliafico would be an ideal cheaper alternative for West London club- who could snap up the South American star for a fee of £22.4m.

Tagliafico’s agent recently has confirmed that his client would seek pastures new this summer, although Frank Lampard has supposedly not yet decided on whether or not to make a switch for the 27-year-old defender.

Tagliafico has managed to found back of the net three times and provided four assists during the 2019-20 Eredivisie season, and the Argentina international will see his current contract with the Dutch outfit ends in 2022.

Arsenal are also rumoured to be keeping tabs on developments surrounding the left-back.
