Deal On: Chelsea to use Timo Werner’s deal to hijack Arsenal transfer target for £50 million

According to reports, Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race for RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano ahead of the summer window, and could use the Timo Werner deal in order to complete another transfer deal

Now Look, There has been so much speculation and rumours in the media over the past few weeks about whom Frank Lampard will sign in the summer, to help improve that back-line, to improve that midfield area, and a possible add a striker to the attack.

But there has also been constant rumours that Chelsea are interested, maybe even desperate, to sign up the impressive Upamecano, who is easily regarded as one of the finest young centre-backs in the game having helped RB become a very exciting, and entertaining to watch.

The French defender is also reportedly on the radar of Arsenal and Barcelona, with reports that the Gunners are desperate to swoop in and try to bring the powerhouse to the Emirates.

But while Arsenal seemed in pole position for some time, the Blues could step in and swoop Upamecano from under their noses as they recently did with Timo Werner and Liverpool, according to The Athletic.

The West Londoners are said to have a good relationship with Leipzig – as a result of Timo Werner’s £53m transfer they recently agreed – and could use that to nab Upamecano.

The Frenchman has a £50million release clause in his Leipzig contract that expires next summer, and is already considered one of the very best young talents in the game after helping Leipzig become one of the most attractive sides to watch in the Bundesliga
