Done DEAL: Player agrees five-year deal with Chelsea as Lampard closes in on third signing

According to METRO, Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz has reportedly reached an agreement over a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are confident of finalising the transfer over the coming days.

However, Frank Lampard has set out his stall in the wake of Chelsea’s two-window transfer ban, with Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech and Leipzig’s Timo Werner completing moves to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

Signing a quality left-back is still on Lampard’s list of priorities and there remains uncertainty surrounding the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga after a woeful campaign between the sticks at Chelsea.

However, it appears Chelsea have made a breakthrough in their discussions with the youngster.

According to RMC Sport reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi, Havertz has agreed to a five-year contract with Chelsea and ‘absolutely wants’ to push through a move to west London.

Talks are ongoing and Chelsea are ‘optimistic’ of striking a deal with Leverkusen over the next few days by staggering their payment for the Germany international.
