Eden Hazard to wear ex-Ronaldo’s No.7 shirt at Real Madrid

Eden Hazard will get the number seven shirt previously worn by Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, British outlet Daily Express claims.

Los Blancos could not give the Belgian his favourite No.10 shirt as it is currently occupied by the Ballon d’Or winner Luca Modric.

Meanwhile, Mariano Diaz, who wore the number seven last season has ‘failed to live up to the expectations’ and so he will be disposed of the number in favour of Hazard.

Yesterday the winger has been pictured in Spain holding Real Madrid shirt with a local fan amid intensive rumours of his imminent move to Los Blancos.

A local source informed the Mirror that 28-year-old signed the shirt handed over by Real Madrid fan and was then jokingly asked to join Barcelona instead.

As it was previously reported, Real Madrid initially planned to officially unveil Eden Hazard as their new player on Monday, 3 June.

However, Spanish outlet AS insist that Madrid’s scheduling has been derailed by Chelsea’s hard stance in the negotiations. It is now believed Los Blancos will delay the Eden Hazard announcement until after June 7.
