Five Chelsea first team players who could follow Ross Barkley out of Stamford Bridge

According to latest reports, Ross Barkley became the latest Chelsea player to head out the door with a season-long loan move to Aston Villa confirmed yesterday.

The 26-year-old has failed to become a regular starter for the Blues since arriving in January 2018, but he could have the possibility to shine at Villa Park again.

With the Blues having brought in several players during the transfer window, the squad certainly needs trimming and they are in the process of doing that.

But which first team players could be next to leave by the time the window slams shut on October 5?

Kepa Arrizabalaga: Kepa Arrizabalaga is set lose his number one spot with Edouard Mendy having come into the squad and with Willy Caballero starting the match at West Brom.

Antonio Rudiger: After another match without Antonio Rudiger in the squad, it is looking more and more likely that the Germany international is heading out the door.

Marcos Alonso: Having been subbed at the break, Alonso then opted to return to the team bus rather than watch the second half. Lampard was reportedly angry with Alonso’s decision to return to the team bus and slammed the Spaniard in front of his teammates. This could lead to Alonso exit.

Emerson Palmieri: Despite the performance of Alonso, there is still a chance that Emerson will be heading out the door before the window shuts.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek: Lampard confirmed on Monday that the Blues are open to letting Ruben Loftus-Cheek head out on loan to get more game time.
