Forget Neuer, dont sign Donnarumma! Lampard told this stopper ‘has the ability’ to be star at Chelsea

Mark Bosnich has claimed Kepa Arrizabalaga could still reach the level of Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea.

Kepa has been at Chelsea for a few seasons now since his mega money move to Stamford Bridge as the Blues firmly believed that he was the ideal man to come in and replace Courtos, who left the club to make the ‘dream move’ to sign with Real Madrid.

However, there has been alot of speculation in the media over the past few days which has suggested that Chelsea will be seeking ti offload the young Spaniard at the end of the season, and bring in a more experienced stopper that can bring that top-level experience to the back-line.

Frank Lampard knows he has one of the most exciting sides in the game right now, but he also knows that he needs world class players in certain areas of the pitch, eading to speculation that the likes of Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Donnarumma could be signed to replace Kepa in the summer.

However, despite all the speculation that Lampard has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, ex-stopper Bosnich has come out and claimed that Kepa has the ability to reach the level of Cech and Courtois, he said on the SUN: “For me, he has not been a disaster in any sense of the word. He has done okay so far.

“It is difficult to follow Petr Cech in their most successful era at the club. “Then you have Thibaut Courtois who was exceptional as well. I believe that Kepa has the ability given time to get to that level.”

Kepa is young enough to go on a develop in the game, and if Chelsea do decide to keep hold of him in the summer, it will be a good decision. They spent so much money on the lad just a few years ago and they should have faith in him, has he actually done anything wrong to warrant this amount of speculation?
