Frank Lampard provides massive updates on Willian & Pedro after Ziyech deal

Chelsea Boss Frank Lampard has insisted that the signing of Hakim Ziyech does not necessarily mean that Willian or Pedro will be leaving Chelsea.

A deal has been agreed to sign Ziyech from Ajax in the summer, when Willian and Pedro’s contracts are due to expire. Both players have been discussing new deals at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at a news conference on Friday afternoon, Blues boss Lampard said Ziyech’s signing does not signal the end for the experienced duo.

“No it doesn’t. Those conversations are ongoing with both players,” Lampard said.

“I think we’ve brought in a quality player who can play in various positions. It certainly doesn’t have a one-on-one effect on any player.” Lampard praised both Willian and Pedro, who have been influential players for Chelsea since arriving in 2013 and 2015 respectively.

He said: “Both have had successful periods for the club and both I’ve found to be very professional and willing and wanting to work this year and help the younger players.

“Regardless, what they’ve done at this club is very well received from our end.”
