Frank Lampard ready to Replace Kepa in summer after conceding 36 goals so far this season

The blues loss away to Manchester City at the start of that run can be excused, defeats to an out-of-form West Ham at Stamford Bridge, an out-of-form Everton at Goodison Park and an out-of-form Bournemouth again at Stamford Bridge must be seriously worrying for Frank Lampard.

However, Chelsea’s transfer ban has now been lifted meaning the blues have the chance to improve the squad to ensure they qualify for next season’s Champions League.

More so, it seems Lampard is already looking ahead to the summer transfer window. And the Chelsea boss has identified a shock position that he’s keen to be strengthen.

Sources close to the club have told Bleacher Report that Lampard wants recruitment staff to start looking for a new goalkeeper for next season. The report states that Lampard won’t have much say in the search as it’s not an area of expertise. However, he wants an option to replace the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, due to his recent poor performances so far this season.

However, kepa looked unconvincing at times this season, especially during last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Everton, and has saved just 56% of the shots he’s faced.

At 25, Kepa is still relatively young for a goalkeeper and the west London club must stick with him for now. He was also blamed for Valencia’s second goal during their 2-2 Champions League draw earlier this month.

However, Kepa has concede almost 36 goals so far in all competition this season this is one of his worst recent form so far in his career.
