Frank Lampard slams of using Kepa as a ‘scapegoat’ to put off Chelsea’s problems

Chelsea Boss Frank Lampard has been slammed of using Kepa Arrizabalaga to divert attention from Chelsea’s real problems.

Spanish newspaper AS claims that the Blues’ boss has found a ‘distraction, smokescreen or scapegoat’ in the club’s most expensive signing ever who, admittedly, has not enjoyed his best campaign.

The 25-year-old was on the bench for the last four games for Chelsea, with 38-year-old Willy Caballero occupying his place between the sticks.

However, the situation has not improved significantly: the Blues have conceded 8 goals in those 4 games, including 3 goals from Bayern on Tuesday night. They have also failed to win in 3 of those games.

What should be of concern for Kepa is Lampard’s claims that the board, at the very least, does not disapprove of how the manager handles the situation.

According to recent reports, Kepa might be one of the players who might leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Sun even claims that Chelsea intend to use him as a bargaining chip to sign Atletico’s shot-stopper Jan Oblak.
