Giroud sends ‘HUGE’ message to Lampard despite not playing enough games

As we all know Olivier Giroud has struggled during his three years with the Blues to establish himself as first-choice striker.

This season, he has often found himself behind Tammy Abraham as the central striker, but the Frenchman has often found the net when called upon.

Giroud has scored eight goals in his last eight matches for Chelsea, but it seems he’s content to remain at the club until the end of the season at least.

Giroud has a record of a goal every 63 minutes this season and he has admitted that he is pleased with it. According to Giroud, he’s unhappy whenever he doesn’t get to play but will still support the team regardless.

“I am told it is a goal every 63 minutes this season (Giroud’s strike rate),” Giroud told Sky Sports. “Obviously, I am very happy with these numbers. I am the happiest man when I am on the pitch.

“We will see what happens in the next few months but I just want to keep my efficiency high.

“When I am not on the pitch, I just try to be a part of the team. I really want the best for this team and I really believe we have a big opportunity to win something at Chelsea with this great squad. “I will just carry on like this and try to keep it up.”
