GOOD NEWS: Chelsea hailed as the best club for Real Madrid and Barcelona transfer target

According to Ajax star Donny van de Beek is reportedly a transfer target for Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window but the 23 year old midfielder has been advised to join Chelsea instead.

Van de Beek was a key part of Ajax’s side that won a domestic double and reached the Champions League semi-finals last term and his outstanding performances this season have attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

He scored 14 goals in all competitions this season before the Dutch league was cancelled.

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Real Madrid or Barcelona but I would rather see him at a club just below that,” Gronkjaer told Goal. “For his style of play alone, clubs like Tottenham or Chelsea would be a better fit.

“They are still top clubs and he is more like Frank Lampard, that kind of player.”

Gronkjaer added: “He is a big guy, box-to-box and takes good long shots.

“But he is not as technically gifted as other players that have come from Ajax. “He is a player you can always get a certain level from.”
