Happening Now: Chelsea reportedly very close to signing Brazilian star from Barcelona on a permanent deal

Reports are emerging this morning that Chelsea are very close to agreeing a deal to make their second signing of the summer after acquiring Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.

According to Catalan newspaper SPORT, Chelsea and Barcelona are close to agreeing a deal that will see former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho return the the Premier League.

They claim that the Brazil international is an object of desire for Chelsea.

The deal is close to being completed after the two parties have already been in negotiations.

Chelsea have no desire to pay the 120 million euro fee that Barcelona paid Liverpool two years ago, and will play the double advantage card using Coutinho’s desire to return to the Premier League, and also giving them needed funds to sign their own targets such as Lautaro Martinez from Inter.

Initially when Coutinho was linked with Chelsea it was said to be a loan deal only, but this report suggests that it will be for a permanent move.
