GOOD NEWS: Spanish club prepared to sell £125 million midfielder to Chelsea in January

According to Metro, Atletico Madrid are prepared to lower their asking price for midfielder Saul Niguez.

The 25 year old midfielder has a release clause of £125 million but Atletico Madrid are reportedly willing to accept a bid of £85 million for the Spain international in January.

Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the 25 year old midfielder, who broke into the Atletico first team in 2010 and is about to make his 250th appearance for the Spanish club.

Atletico Madrid reportedly want to sell Saul Niguez to raise funds for a summer move for a striker to replace Antoine Griezmann, who left for Barcelona during the summer.

Atletico Madrid will prefer to sell Thomas Lemar but they are yet to receive a suitable offer for the Frenchman.

Saul has been around forever, it seems. He made his debut for the La Liga outfit as a 17-year-old in 2012, and he has since made 270 appearances for the club.

He has overcome great adversity, suffering from a kidney issue as a youngster, and he has now established himself as a regular starter for one of the best teams in Europe.
