GREAT NEWS: Chelsea given green light to sign €30m-rated German attacker

London club are eyeing up PSG attackers Julian Draxler and Idrissa Gueye as they look to make up for lost time in the transfer market. Chelsea were unable to invest in the summer having been put under a transfer ban, but can now flex their muscles in winter.

Frank Lampard has done well with a young squad, but the opportunity to bring in some new faces is the chance he is likely to take. Germany international has been at PSG for almost three years but is not always guaranteed game time in the Ligue 1 giants.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking to add some creativity to their midfield has been unable to replace Eden Hazard in the summer. The Belgian star made the switch to Real Madrid after perhaps his best campaign in a Chelsea shirt leaving Frank Lampard particularly short of goals and assists.

Julian could help fill that void, while they have also been linked with an £86m move for Philippe Coutinho.

Blues are also weighing up a move for Gueye despite Senegal international only joining them in the summer from Everton. A move for Gueye is unlikely given PSG’s unwillingness to sell.

Blues have also been linked with a new left-back as Frank seeks to plug the gaps in his young squad.

Chelsea had looked certain to finish in the top four once again, but a run of four league defeats in five matches. Investment in winter though should ensure they put themselves in the best possible position to qualify for the UCL.
