Heading to Stamford Bridge? As €55m-rated Chelsea target snubs Real Madrid’s offer to give hope for Chelsea

Real Madrid and Chelsea are believed to be the two sides that have shown the most interest in David Alaba.

Reports in Spain claim that it’s the Spanish giants who are leading the race to sign Alaba on a free transfer.

Daily Mail claim Real Madrid have offered the Bayern Munich defender a four-year deal worth nearly £9m a season.

Alaba is due to be a free agent when his contract with Bayern Munich runs down at the end of June, and so far, he has rejected Bayern Munich’s £200,000-a-week contract extension.

Goal now claim that David Alaba’s wage demands are proving a stumbling block regarding a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. According to the report, Alaba wants to be the highest earner for the Los Blancos, and will want a salary package that’s greater than that of current skipper Sergio Ramos.

Chelsea could still have a chance to sign up the Austrian for free, but Alaba wants to utilise his free signing status and get as much money as he could, knowing that the signing club won’t have to pay a transfer fee.
