Icardi hands transfer request, set for Chelsea move

As Chelsea’s interest in signing Mauro Icardi intensifies new reports have it that the player has told Inter Milan he wouldn’t be extending his contract at the San Siro, handing the Blues a boost in their quest to sign him.

The Argentine player has been in discussions to extend his stay with the Serie A giants for several weeks now however the negotiations for an extension for a new deal hasn’t been concluded yet.

With Negotiations over a new deal still stalling, the news is that the player could leave Inter this month.

Chelsea and Real Madrid have been linked, while Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara has hinted that PSG are also keen.

According to Italian outlet TyC Sports, Icardi has informed Inter chiefs he doesn’t intend to remain at the club.

They further claim the former Sampdoria man ‘will not extend his contract with the Italian side and could continue his career at Real Madrid or Chelsea.’

The claim comes less than 24 hours after Nara revealed that Inter have offered Icardi a deal which is nowhere near their valuation.

“Icardi’s renewal with Inter is a very long way off as things stand today,” Nara told AS.

“There are very important clubs that are interested in signing Mauro and we are very far from reaching an agreement [with Inter].

The figures that are being talked about in Italy about his contract renewal are not accurate.
